Biography: John Dickson Carr was born on November 30, 1906, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Julia Carr and Wooda Nicholas Carr, a Pennsylvania politician and congressman. Before he reached his teens, Carr expressed his interests in writing by authoring sports articles and covering murder trials for the local newspaper.
